Experience
I obtained my BA in English Literature and my MA in Linguistics from the Florida International University. I was a teaching assistant as a graduate student, and had the opportunity to tutor students in all areas of linguistics, as well as teach rhetoric and writing. I haven't stopped teaching just because I graduated. I've spent time teaching English to middle school students in Japan, as well as taking advantage of other opportunities to tutor individuals. I'm now working on the classes I need to take to be eligible to study for my doctoral degree in physical therapy. Though I lean towards the English/ Language Arts subjects, I am knowledgeable in and able to tutor in a number of other subjects. Some of these are Spanish, Japanese, math, and science. I'm also available to help students as they study for standardized exams such as the PSAT, SAT, and others. I like pushing my students to always go the next step outside their comfort zone as they're learning, to the point that they eventually learn things they never thought possible. I act more as a guide than a fount of information, as I believe students gain more satisfaction and confidence by learning for themselves.
